at the 2006 Dolphinholme Road Race

From The Priory Cafe, Head Quarters the neutralised start rolls up Long Lane where, once over the cross roads the race and the main climb starts. At the top of the climb follow the fell road towards Marshaw where at the T-junction there is a left turn. Follow the road towards Lee, but turn left just prior at Emmetts Chapel along another Long Lane, descending in to Abbeystead.
After climbing out of Abbeystead follow the Abbeystead Road through Lower Greenbank to Dolphinholme, bearing left at the mini roundabout. At The Fleece public house turn left, over the river Wyre towards Harris End, and at the cross roads turn left to start the main climb again, resisting the temptation to turn right back towards The Priory for a cup of tea!
